Becky Bond is my #WCW

My #WomanCrushWednesday saves lives! She is strong and courageous! She is inspires me and reminds me little dreams can become big successes! She just so happens to be my sons swim teacher….and I am sure your kids have gone to her or know her! When I got pregnant with Easton one thing I knew right off the bat is I wanted him to do swim lessons with Becky Bond. I had watched her since she started, and saw her business grow. Everyone I knew with a kid went to swim with Becky! Well, the time had come….I had Easton, he was 10 months and swim sign ups had started! Were water people and we had, had Easton out on the boat and in the water since he was a little tiny baby. He loved the pool, he loved splashing and I knew he would love it! Newsflash HE HATED IT! But we stuck to it every day we went and we would cheer him on as he screamed at Becky! Then check out came….Later then most kids because at this point we had been swimming since March and it was now Summer and I’ll just put it nicely and say my kid hates to float, doesn’t float and would not float (Now he does…) but Becky pushed us and we stuck to it….NOW Easton is a little fish. Still hates floating but were getting there!

So heres a little bit about Becky….a real life mermaid as I like to refer to her

I, Becky Bond, was raised in Osceola County, and was raised with a huge passion and love for the water. Coaching children came as one of my special talents. I first started coaching as a Water Ski Instructor in high school, and resumed my coaching career after college instructing wakeboarding at Orlando Water Complex. I have been coaching children in the water for over 10 years now, and have decided to change direction to back to where it all began for me, swimming! I started teaching swim lessons 3 years ago now, after I had my little girl 3 months prior. This journey of teaching children a life saving skill in and out of the water has changed my life completely, and day in and day out I am solely focused on changing the lives of all your little ones, one lesson at a time.
After I got pregnant with my little girl, I knew I needed to redirect my life. I researched any and every company that certifies swim instructors. After I had Ariana, 2 months after she was born, I made the commitment to get certified through the Pedia Swim Academy with Joy McGinty. After the 4 week course, I started my first group of kids the Monday after. The rest has been nothing short of amazing.

How amazing is her journey! I am starting to think that I picked the wrong carrier choice…living in Florida I wish I was in the pool every day! When I asked becky her favorite things about the industry she told me “Every day I go to work, I know I get to contribute to saving lives for children all throughout our community.” This is such an amazing thing when yo think about it….we live in the “Sunshine State” which basically means we are always sweating which boils down to most of us spend our weekends in the pool, on the lake, at the beach or around water of some sort. I know for myself it is such a relief knowing Easton learned these skills.

Easton swimming ^^

Becky shared this quote with me

“My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive, and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style. -Maya Angelou”

I think this is most fitting for her for so many reasons. If you know her…you know she is a fun person. The type to keep you laughing she’s full of passion! But mostly because she is thriving! To have taught probably more then half of the kids in our town how to swim and to have only been open for 3 years blows my mind! To have moved from a back yard pool to indoor facility blows my mind. To go from being able to mange her schedule by herself to having now three instructors..blows my mind! On top of having a family being a mom and GETTING ENGAGED (congrats 😉 )Becky you are rocking it!! Actually you are more then rocking it….YOU killed it!!!

I always like to ask what motivates people…my answer is always Easton! I want him to be proud of who I was and what I did when he’s grown. No surprise to me that Beckys answer was Ariana! I can already tell you this girl is proud of her mom! She also shared that her job motivates her.

“Knowing I’m getting up everyday to help a little one possibly save their life one day is beyond rewarding and easily motivates me.”

I am blown away by her character!

I am so thrilled to be sharing with you all a little bit about who Becky is! Yes she teaches swim…but she also teaches kids how to save their own lives! Thats is not only important but impressive! She doesn’t give up when the kid is to hard and doesn’t want to float, when the parents feel defeated, or when it gets hard! She encourages, pushes and stays persistent! These are leader qualities, these are the qualities I want to have but also want my child to have! Becky I cannot thank you enough for all that you do, but also for who you are. You love and care about our kids and to a mom that means everything! Easton, myself and so many others are blessed to have you! Thank you for being an inspiration to all of us! I can not wait to keep supporting you and watching you grow!
